Abstract
Objectives£ºThe purpose of this study is to examine the reliability and validity of Korean Version of the Recovery
Potential Survey and to determine appropriate cutting point for identifying and screening the co-dependents of alcoholic
families.

Method£ºRecovery Potential Survey is one of a measuring tool for co-dependence consisting of 35 items, which
had been developed by Dr. Whitfield. Subjects was 41 of alcoholic families and 195 of families of normal control.

Results£ºThe reliability, item-item correlation were high in their scores, Cronbach¡¯s ¥á coefficient was 0.94. And construct
validity was provided by factor analysis. The mean value of co-dependence scores was significantly high in alcoholic
family group than those in normal control group. We provided T score norms and the sensitivity, specificity and efficiency
table according to various cutting scores, which may be useful to determine the optimal cutting point.

Conclusion£ºThe Korean version of Recovery Potential Survey was a promising tool for identifying the co-dependents in alcoholic families. And we determined optimal cutting point for screening as 53.
